About Us

Seagan Island is a place you can visit to experience delicious cuisine created from the wonders of the ocean.

Jeff and Heather are certified restaurant kitchen managers who created a tropical paradise to experiment with exotic fruits and amazing seafood. This dynamic duo has more than 20 years of experience in the kitchen creating delicious recipes that include a variety of vegetarian, vegan and pescatarian.

Seagan is defined as vegan food with the addition of sustainable seafood. This plant-based regimen excludes land animals and their byproducts.  Even though plant-based meals can offer plenty of protein, some prefer to grab their protein from seafood.

Heather wrestled with weight control since the age of seven. She consistently tried popular diet and trends that promoted portion control, food eliminations and calorie counting. It wasn’t enough to lose the weight and keep it off, eating that way long term just was not sustainable. Heather discovered she had to completely change her diet to not only keep the weight off, but feel good overall. To accomplish this, Heather initially adopted a plant-based (vegan) diet. After a surgery left her struggling with the ability to absorb iron and B-12, the logical answer was to slowly add sustainable seafood to her diet. She has been healthy and easily keeping the weight off ever since.

Jeff never wrestled with weight but has always been into fitness. His philosophy is to eat what you want, but eat healthy, use portion control and exercise. His magic formula is: smaller portions + healthy snacks + exercise + water + weekly cheat meal. Growing up in the New Orleans area, he’s developed a love for seafood and the culinary arts. After meeting Heather, he started using his culinary skills to create amazing vegan recipes. With his love for seafood at the forefront, seagan was born.
